At Sutton Tutorials, we not only provide help and support for students struggling with content but also make sure that they are equipped with the necessary tools to be able to transfer their knowledge to answer examination questions correctly.

Our vastly experienced A-Level maths tutors have a thorough understanding of the syllabus and examination requirements for all of the A-Level examination boards.

The resources we use are specific to each examination board, and for each student, we aim to develop their examination technique as well as their in-depth knowledge of key concepts and principles.

The weekly homework keeps kids engaged in learning. All 11 Plus topics are covered in the tutorials, with learning followed by weekly tests. The sessions are well-paced, engaging, with a healthy dose of competition. Thanks to his excellent teaching, she achieved a great score in her exam and has secured a place at her first choice of grammar school.

Richard has always been approachable and quick to respond to any queries. Homework was manageable and helped to reinforce what was covered in lessons. My daughter always looked forward to her class each week.

If a lesson couldn’t be attended, Richard was very flexible and allowed us to swap to another session in the week when there was availability, which was really helpful.

The mock exams were of very high quality, and the feedback provided was much more detailed and helpful than other mock providers we tried. This allowed us to identify and focus on weaker areas.

We did no extra work other than what she did with Richard and Mr Thorsby and we were happy that there was not excessive amounts of work to complete throughout the week.  She really enjoyed the lessons themselves and had lots of fun as both Richard and Mr Thorsby are not intense and are kind and encouraging rather than adding to pressure and anxiety. We believe this is why she did so well!

I would definitely recommend trying to do a couple of the mock exams. Exam technique plays a big part and she actually never did particularly well on them but Richard checked her paper specifically and it transpired that she had been filling out the answer sheets incorrectly-they really do go the extra mile. Even if she hadn’t have got the result we hoped for the process was so brilliant as it has built confidence, resilience and commitment to learning. We cannot recommend Richard highly enough. Choosing his 11+ classes was, without a doubt, the single best decision we made for our daughter's preparation. His support led directly to truly transformative results.

Our daughter achieved a very high score in her 11+, securing the strong foundation we had hoped for. More significantly, Richard’s teaching was absolutely instrumental in navigating the highly rigorous and competitive entrance process for the Henrietta Barnett School (HBS), one of the top girls' grammar schools in the country.

She successfully passed Stage 1 of the HBS exam. To fully appreciate the magnitude of this achievement, Stage 1 involved over 7,000 applicants, with only the top 300 candidates progressing. We credit Richard's outstanding teaching skills and focused preparation entirely for this success.

Beyond the academic outcomes, what truly sets Richard apart is the incredible rapport he built with our daughter.
